An MOT is an annually performed statuary test for vehicles that are to be used on public roads. The point of the MOT test is to insure a vehicles roadworthiness and it general level of car safety. The MOT test grades performed by the Uttoxeter MOT Test Centre include:
• Class I MOT - Mopeds and Motorcycles up to 199 cc
• Class II MOT - Motorcycles 200 cc and over
• Class III MOT - Tricycles and three wheeled cars
• Class IV MOT - Cars, Motor Caravans, Goods vehicles up to 3000 kg gross weight, Minibuses (with no more than 12 passenger seats)
• Class V MOT - Private buses (with more than 12 passenger seats and up to 16)
• PSV MOT test (Class VI) - Vehicles used for Hire or Reward with more than 16 passenger seats)
• Class VII MOT - Goods vehicles (between 3000 kg and 3500 kg in gross weight)
